I sometimes get sent items to review on this blog which, of course, I love doing because it opens my eyes to new websites, new products and new brands, and I would only ever feature things on WitWitWoo that I think you guys would find relevant and/or interesting.

Today, however, I am featuring a hamper full of items I’ve been sent that have totally rocked my world.

Ladies and gentlemen … I bring you the wonderful world of food from Jersey.

OK, I may have overstated this whole thing somewhat, but just wait until you see what there is!

I’ve never been to any of the Channel Islands but Jersey has been on my radar for a while because a friend of mine went last year and the photos looked amazing. Miles of sandy beaches, long sunny days and lots of fun to be had, so Jersey has definitely been added to my bucketlist.

Now, onto the good stuff:

  • Jersey Black Butter:

Made using a traditional Jersey recipe Jersey Black Butter has a strong provenance with the Island and is ‘Christmas in a jar.’

  • Liberation Ale Chutney:

Home made with locally brewed, award winning, Liberation Ale and Genuine Jersey vegetables – the perfect accompaniment for a ploughman’s lunch.

  • G’lée d’Jèrri:

Home made with locally grown cider apples, Eau de Vie from local producer, La Robeline and with a hint of Thyme – delicious with roast pork, sausages or in a bacon sandwich.

  • Jersey Salted Caramel Sauce:

It’s the golden Jersey butter and rich cream we use that gives La Crémière’s Jersey Salted Caramel its sublime taste and colour.

You have no idea how much I’m looking forward to using this. I’m thinking poured over a vanilla cheesecake, used in a home-made apple crumble or just poured straight down my throat from the bottle. All work for me.

Also in the hamper were:

Hand Made Biscuits with Jersey Black Butter

A delicious way to really enjoy award winning Jersey Black Butter.

Brownie Bites

Mouth-watering bites from a passionate local baker – enjoy!

Jersey T-towel by MollyMac

A permanent reminder of Jersey for when all the tasty treats have gone!

I’ve been looking at everything for a few days now and I’m just not sure where to start. (We all know I’m going to start with the caramel sauce, right?)

Hopefully, that’s given you a taste (see what I did there?) of what Jersey has to offer and that brings me onto a competition they’re running at the moment.

escape to jersey

Visit Jersey are running a great ‘Create Your Escape’ competition which sees the winner winning a unique Jersey escape. All you have to do is go to the Escape to Jersey website, click a few preferences highlighting your ideal Jersey break and the site will create a mini video for you … and that’s it!

Best of luck to you all if you do decide to enter because it looks like a fantastic place to explore. Also, I’d love to hear from you if you have already been so I can pick your brains for my planned trip there next year!
