It’s 5pm on Christmas Eve. I spent a wonderful couple of hours at the pub with my best friend and the boys (I was driving, so I just had the one sherry). We exchanged gifts, the boys refused to let me take a sensible photo of them, we both had scampi and chips (2 for a tenner no less) … and well, it was just perfect.
I got a few last minute presents in Tesco – my family are SO lucky, and we are now home. Ben’s working until 7pm and is then going out for a well deserved shandy so I doubt we’ll see him until tomorrow. I found myself saying exactly what I remember my Mum used to say to me: “Don’t drink too much, you’ll spoil tomorrow.” And then I realised that he’ll do exactly what I did, namely exactly what he wants!
I seem to have completely lost control of the remote and I’ve now watched four episodes of Dr Who back to back. The only plus point is that I finally relented and opened the Quality Street and I think I may have managed to find and eat the final Toffee Penny – result!
Dexter and I are sat quietly on the sofa and I’m deciding whether to have a bath now or put the potato skins in the oven for tea … or vice versa. I really am living the dream! 🙂
I’ve wrapped (most) of the presents and, at least for the next ten minutes, I have some peace and quiet, so I thought I’d take the time to wish you all a Merry Christmas!
Some of you come and visit occasionally, some are regulars, some comment, some lurk … but I appreciate every single one of you taking the time out of your busy lives to stop by.
I love writing my blog, my little corner of the internet, and I’m well aware that I do talk some drivel sometimes, but I hope you get some enjoyment out of it!
Here’s to 2015!
