Well that’s (nearly) that. I’ve signed the contract to sell my house and after 24 years, this is it. Time for another chapter in my life. Moving isn’t through choice, it’s more circumstance. I was pushed, I didn’t jump … but I’m determined to make it as much of a positive experience as I can for Dexter.
I try and get him excited about the myriad of possibilities that are out there for us … what adventures can we get up to, the first and most important question being, where should we move to? We talk about moving to the seaside, even though we both know we’ll have to stay near to where we are for now because of school. I’ve asked him to explain how he’d like to decorate his new room (when we find one) and overall, I’m trying my hardest to make our new home, wherever it will be, special.
So this week, I’ve been on (another) cushion hunt! I know it’s trivial, but it’s all I can do right now until everything is agreed, to try and keep the excitement up and the sadness down.
First up this week, are these beauties:
“Do what you love. Love what you do.” Thought these were rather appropriate and wish I’d bought them now. They’re from BHS (yeah, your Nan’s shop, but if you dig a little deeper, you can always find a couple of good finds there.) Reasonably price too at around £15 I think.
I actually bought these 2 cushions. They’re from John Lewis and only cost £15 each. (Yes, I bought cushions with my John Lewis voucher instead of something pretty for myself. How sad is that?! (VERY.) Still, they’re nice and fluffy with a faux suede background, so if all else fails, I can just stroke them all night. I so need to get out more.
Yup, another bag. You can read here and here about the other bags I’ve seen recently that I think are hot. This one is from Clarks, and I can’t remember if it’s leather or not. It’s a different take on the other type of satchels I’ve seen around a lot.
Retails at £79.99 so this will have to go on my Wish List.
I took Dexter shopping on Saturday and came across a small retro sweet shop. Couldn’t resist, went in and promptly asked for a quarter of fangs. The shop assistant look at me like I was from another planet.
I think this photo MAY need explaining. First of all, I don’t know who this is. Secondly, I was scouring eBay late on Saturday night (because that’s how I roll) and what I was actually looking for was some leggings for Dexter to wear under his shorts for football. But I found these instead. Which I think are probably for a WHOLE different sport.
That’s my lot for this week – who knows what I’ll find next week!
