I’ve worked with M&S before, taking part in their ‘How to dress for your shape’ campaign. You have to check this video out of me attempting to strut my stuff on a mini catwalk – hilare!
Anyway, they got back in touch and asked me if I’d like to review some of their Autumn/Winter 2013 clothes and I jumped at the chance. I love the fact they know I’m not a fashion blogger, but that doesn’t mean I’m not interested in fashion, right? I’m a parent, a full time working one at that. I’m just like a gazillion other women. So I hope you can relate 🙂
I’ve recently had a big wardrobe clearout as I’m moving house (well, being made homeless!) and so I’ve spent the last month putting clothes on eBay and giving the remnants to my local charity shop. Had I remembered in time, I could have used M&S’s Shwopping service – doh!
I was given a budget and I chose some key staples for Autumn/Winter.
First on my list was a new coat and I really pushed the boat out. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, but I have wanted a (fake) fur coat for years … so I took the plunge! And look how gorgeous it is.
As you can see, it’s pretty gorgeous. The coat that is! Deep brown and so soft. Retailing at £89.
Next up is a pair of black ‘lift and sculpt‘ bootleg jeans. These have a lovely stretch in them which makes them ultra comfortable but I’m not sure if they’ve particularly ‘lifted’ or ‘sculpted’ the junk in my trunk. The main thing for me, when looking for a pair of jeans, is that they don’t lose their shape and they’re comfortable to wear – these jeans fit both those categories.
Retailing at £25, a good autumn/winter investment.
Finally, a gorgeous blue bag (although technically it’s called a ‘Studded Slouch Hobo Bag!) that is big enough to hold the copious amounts of utter rubbish I seem to carry around with me. I like the colour, it’s very sturdy and I don’t think there’s anything you can’t not like about this bag. Retailing at £29.50, this bag should see me right through to next summer.
So there you have it. A few staple pieces for autumn/winter that I am thrilled with … hope you like them too.
