Unless you’ve been living under a rock, which would be a bit weird, you may have heard that I won a writing competition back in March, and I’m off on a cruise next week!
The competition was to become Princess Cruise’s Royal Correspondent and was run by Cruise International magazine. The prize included attending the naming ceremony where none other than KATE MIDDLETON, DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE, will be in attendance as the newest Godmother to the newest addition to the fleet of Princess ships.
There will be a gala dinner and then I am lucky enough to go on a two day cruise to Guernsey to experience everything that The Royal Princess has to offer.
To say I’m excited, is an understatement. I’ve been working so hard for the last year that the thought of just being myself for a few days … no work, no kids (although you can imagine how well me going away went down,) no early mornings, no housework … is like a dream come true.
And for me, the most exciting part, other than spending five whole days with my blogging friend Kate, is that I also get to write about my experience in Cruise International’s magazine. It could be the break into travel writing I’ve been waiting for for years.
I know I’m going to be a little out of my depth (sorry for any water related puns that might surface …) amongst the ‘class,’ for want of a better word, that will be at the event and cruise. BUT, the way I see it … I reckon the event will be a whole lot more entertaining with me being involved!
I’ll be Tweeting, Facebooking and blogging like a woman possessed whilst I’m away so please look out for my reporting – it is going to be epic!
