I went out on Saturday for my quarterly big night out with my best friend.  I had a new leopard print skirt to wear and wear it I certainly did – complete with new red lipstick.  My metamorphosis into Kat Slater is nearly complete.

We had a great night, as is the norm when we go out – we’re pretty entertaining if I say so myself, but I vaguely remembered Tweeting this whilst out:

Once I’d sobered up and looked back at the photos I’d taken (oh the shame!), Tweets I’d … well, Tweeted, this one particular Tweet struck a chord.

Since when did guys become more feminine than women?

At the risk of sounding like my Nan (God rest her soul,) why are men so manicured, plucked, preened, tanned and tarted up these days?  They’re just so …. damned pretty.  Now maybe it’s just the type of club we were in, but I swear there wasn’t one hair out of place.  Every single man was neatly coiffured, smartly dressed and so bloody metrosexual.

Now, I don’t know if that’s your thing or not … but I think I actually might prefer my men a little more … man-like.  I LOVE a beard.  A hairy chest.  You can’t go wrong with jeans and a shirt.  Hair has to be at least a little messed up.  Ever-so-slightly rough and ready.  Basically, I want my man to look like a man!

My only caveat is that he’s gotta smell good.  That’s just the law.  Other than that, I’m pretty easy going.

TOWIE has a lot to answer for.

What do you think?

  1. Yes. I don’t want to fight my man for mirror space. Beards, hairy chests, men with good looks who don’t know it. Kind, funny and clever too obvs but not tweezed, tanned and ripped to perfection. Yuck x
