york trip

Day 2 and I have never looked, sounded or felt more hideous.  We were originally planning to see my friend Nickie but as you’ll see from the beginning of this video, it was never going to happen.  She-bola had now hit me HARD.

But I did get to meet another of my great blogging friends, Kellie from Big Fashionista … and that’s basically because she was kind enough to come to my hotel and, I quote, wasn’t phased by my ‘softie southern germs.’  We had a lovely catch up, stole some coffee from the restaurant, and put the world to rights … and all in 45 minutes!

Instead, we drove over to York, earlier than planned, and I dosed up on as many paracetamol as I could find covered in fluff at the bottom of my handbag.  Coupled with a large dose of Bare Minerals, I felt safe to go out in public.

York was rather delightful.  We stayed at a Best Western, which I always find nice because they tend to be interesting buildings and we were still really lucky with the weather.

I’ll let the video tell you the rest but I will say this … Yorkshire was as beautiful as I thought it would be, the people were lovely and friendly and although it doesn’t make the logistics of moving from Kent any easier, it does put my mind at rest that my gut instinct about whether we’d be happy there or not was right.

Again, apologies in advance for the sheer hideousness that is my face.
